Suffolk Construction was named general contractor for the Okan Tower project. The $300m mixed-use development will go up in downtown Miami. Plans call for a 70-story tower with 149 condominium units ranging from one to three bedrooms, four exclusive penthouses, 236 condo-hotel units and a 316-key Hilton Bayfront Miami hotel. Amenities include a sky pool with panoramic views of the bay and city on the 70th floor, a health and fitness center, a resident movie theater and a rooftop restaurant. Slated to break ground before the end of the year, the scheme will be Florida’s tallest residential building.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Suffolk Construction family to our robust team,” said Bekir Okan, chairman of Okan Group, the developer. “Okan Tower will be a landmark addition to South Florida, and it’s only fitting to partner with a company whose local and national reputation is impeccable, as well as one that we trust.”
