The Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s board of directors has scheduled a vote for the acquisition of the former Herald-Tribune Media Group’s Main Street headquarters in downtown Sarasota, Florida. The hospital would invest $17.34m to purchase and upgrade the facility. If approved and completed in January, 300 employees in the personnel, corporate compliance, physician IT services, finance, clinical and business systems, supply chain management and other departments would relocate. In addition to the $11.83m purchase, Sarasota Memorial plans to develop a new parking structure for 100 vehicles on the 3.8-acre property at a cost of $2.27m and devote another $3m to furniture and equipment.
