Hungarian forint falls to historic low

Driven by concerns over a no-deal Brexit, the escalating US-China trade war and the German recession, the Hungarian forint fell to a historic low against the euro, according to local news reports. Last week, the forint-euro dropped to HUF 330 per euro. The Central Bank told Reuters it had no exchange rate target. “The exchange rate influences the central bank’s assessment of the situation indirectly, fundamentally via its effect on the inflation and economic outlook,” the bank said in a statement.
