Trust in the Czech economy fell to its lowest levels since 2014, according to the country's statistics office (CSU). It reported that faith in the Czech economy among business owners led the slide, falling 1.3 points to 91.6, though consumers reported greater confidence as their indicator rose by 0.3 points to 103.6 points. Industrial companies reported an overall slip of 2.8 points to 87.5 points. "Industrial companies continue to rate their current situation positively and they have orders for more than 11 months. However, they're running into barriers to growth in production," wrote CSU analyst Jiří Obst. "Companies are limited not only by a lack of employees but in some sectors there's even a lack of demand." Construction companies, however, reported greater confidence in the economy, however here too a lack of labor is choking off growth. They're predicting lower levels of output for the next three months.
